Most accountant positions require at least a bachelor's degree in accounting or in a field related to accounting. Most states require 150 credit hours of education. But the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants) recommends a master's degree in either accounting or business administration. You must also pass an exam called the Uniform CPA Examination. It is developed and graded by the AICPA. If you are attending high school or on your way there, you should take certain classes to prepare for a career in accounting. You should take computer (keyboarding), and business classes. Taking accounting classes would probably be a good idea too. If you would like to search around for college education, do it! But here are some colleges I am looking into: |
